Program

STEAM

This is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. Our teachers use STEAM lessons and activities to prepare children for future learning in these areas.

Physical Education

We believe that physical activity is important for children for their emotional well-being. We utilize the SPARK PE curriculum which is a research-based program to engage children in physical activities in order to improve the health and social skills of children. We encourage each child to do his/her “personal best” each day.

Music

We love to share music with our students, allowing them to experience and grow skill sets that will enhance their personal creativity. Our centers perform an annual show for families that incorporates singing, dancing, speaking and art.

Art

We are pleased to present our students with the Arts Attack curriculum which provides an entire arts curriculum that has been fully validated and developed in the classroom. It is designed to allow every teacher, with or without special training, to present lessons covering drawing, technique, art appreciation, media exploration and self-expression.

Practical “hands on” Learning

At Aim High we have the pleasure of introducing children to every day concepts that they will need in the future, but may not have experienced yet. We do this through monthly themes that focus on an aspect of life that incorporates new knowledge, other content areas, and FUN. Some examples from recent themes are flight travel, camping, and animal conservation.

Literature

The Novel Approach is an additive element that provides sound effects for specific books. It allows children to engage their visualization skills through reading.

Social & Emotional Learning

Today’s world requires more than traditional education. At Aim High we have adopted the 7 HABITS OF HAPPY KIDS in order to equip students with the self-confidence and skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.
